Principal Internal Auditor (Addis Ababa)
Job Summary
The Principal Internal Auditor is responsible for evaluating the adequacy, effectiveness, and efficiency of the Bank’s internal control, risk management, and governance systems. The role also supports the implementation of the Department’s Risk-Based Audit Plan.
Key Responsibilities
• Prepare audit engagement plans and examine collected information to support audit results.
• Coordinate and follow up on audits, including pending cases and responses from auditees.
• Assess the adequacy of internal control and governance systems, providing recommendations for improvement.
• Supervise inspections across all operational areas in accordance with the audit engagement plan.
• Ensure proper safeguarding of the Bank’s assets.
• Review and ensure the quality of audit and inspection reports.
Educational Qualifications
• Bachelor’s or B.Sc. degree in Accounting, Banking and Finance, Finance and Auditing, or related fields.
Experience
• Minimum of 5 years of relevant experience, including at least 1 year as a Senior Officer or in a professional/expert role.
Required Skills
• Strong understanding of risk management and auditing practices.
• Excellent analytical and reporting skills.
• Ability to coordinate and supervise audit engagements efficiently.
