In Ethiopia, UNDP has been active since 1981, focusing on poverty reduction, economic development, democratic governance, and climate-resilient growth. Currently, UNDP is assisting the Government of Ethiopia in overcoming structural challenges to become a democratic, peaceful, and prosperous middle-income country.
Position 1: Intern – Regional Trade Associate
Education:
• Applicants must be enrolled in or have recently graduated from a postgraduate degree program (such as a master’s) or have recently graduated with a first-level university degree in Economics, Management, Business Administration, International Relations/Development, or related fields.
• Must start the internship within one year of graduation.
Experience:
• No professional work experience required, but a relevant field of study is necessary.
Languages:
• Fluency in oral and written English is required.
• Knowledge of French is an asset.
Place of Work: Addis Ababa, Ethiopia
Position 2: Internship – Project Support (AFSIT)
Education:
• Enrolled in a postgraduate degree program in Political Science, International Relations, Development, or related fields.
• Enrolled in the final academic year of a first university degree or have recently graduated (within one year of graduation).
Experience:
• Experience in project and event management is desirable.
• Familiarity with the UN system and SDGs is an advantage.
Languages:
• Proficiency in English is required.
• Knowledge of French is an asset.
Position 3: Regional Trade Analyst
Education:
• Advanced university degree (master’s or equivalent) in Trade, Economics, Finance, or related fields, OR
• A first-level university degree (bachelor’s degree) combined with at least two years of relevant experience in economics, trade, or finance.
Experience:
• Master’s degree holders are not required to have professional work experience.
• Bachelor’s degree holders must have at least two years of relevant professional experience.
Languages:
• Fluent in English is required.
