1. Head, Communications Department

Position Overview

The Head of Communications plays a pivotal role in shaping NEBE’s public image, ensuring transparency, and building public trust through effective communication strategies. This department serves as a vital link between NEBE, the public, stakeholders, and the media.

Key Responsibilities

Communications & Public Relations

• Ensure transparency by providing accessible and accurate information about NEBE’s activities.

• Enhance public awareness and engagement through various communication channels.

• Improve internal communication to strengthen institutional integrity and productivity.

• Manage public inquiries and address concerns promptly and professionally.

Media Relations

• Build and maintain strong relationships with journalists and media outlets.

• Prepare press releases, organize press conferences, and ensure high media coverage of NEBE events.

Digital Communication & Branding

• Manage NEBE’s official website and social media platforms.

• Monitor and respond to online feedback and maintain NEBE’s brand identity.

Crisis Communication

Training & Compliance

• Provide communication training for staff and enforce ethical guidelines, ensuring impartiality, transparency, and confidentiality.

Qualifications & Experience

• Education: MA or PhD in Communications, Journalism, or a related field.

• Experience: 10 years for MA or 8 years for PhD, with at least 4 years in a leadership role.

• Skills:

• Strong leadership and strategic management abilities.

• Proven experience in media management and crisis communication.

• Proficiency in digital communication tools and social media.

• Fluency in English and Amharic (written and spoken).
