Job Summary
The MEAL Manager oversees Monitoring, Evaluation, Accountability, and Learning (MEAL) and Information Management (IM) teams in Ethiopia. This role ensures project quality, data-driven decision-making, and compliance with HI’s global standards.

Key Responsibilities
1. Leadership & Team Management
– Lead and mentor MEAL & IM teams (Senior Officers, IM Officers).
– Foster innovation, accountability, and professional growth.
– Ensure compliance with HI’s code of conduct and safeguarding policies.
2. MEAL Strategy & Systems Development**
– Design and implement MEAL frameworks for data collection, impact assessment, and learning.
– Strengthen accountability to beneficiaries through feedback mechanisms.
– Support project evaluations, reporting, and evidence-based decision-making.
3. Project Quality & Compliance
– Ensure alignment with HI’s technical standards and donor requirements.
– Develop monitoring tools, indicators, and evaluation processes.
– Facilitate capacity-building for partners and staffon MEAL best practices.
4. Emergency Preparedness & Response
– Adapt MEAL systems for rapid humanitarian response.
– Ensure real-time data tracking in crisis situations.
5. Advocacy & External Representation
– Represent HI in regional MEAL/networking forums.
– Contribute to advocacy efforts using data-driven insights.

Qualifications & Skills
✅ Education:
Master’s degree in Humanitarian Aid, Development Studies, International Relations, or related fields.
Experience:
– 3+ years in humanitarian/development project coordination.
2+ years in MEAL roles (monitoring, evaluation, accountability).
Key Skills:
✔ Strong team leadership & coaching abilities
✔ Expertise in MEAL methodologies & data analysis
✔ Ability to simplify complex processes
✔ Knowledge of humanitarian standards (CHS, Sphere)
