About Ethiopia Roads Administration (ERA)
The Ethiopia Roads Administration, formerly known as the Ethiopian Roads Authority, was established in 1951 and operates under the Ministry of Works and Urban Development. ERA is mandated to plan, construct, maintain, and manage Ethiopia’s trunk and major link roads, ensuring the development of quality road infrastructure nationwide.
With five regional offices in Gondar, Shashemene, Diredawa, Jimma, and Alemgena, ERA is dedicated to improving connectivity and supporting the country’s socio-economic growth by developing a reliable, high-standard road network.
