Job Position: Acting Chief Financial Officer

Company Overview

Ethiopia Green is a joint venture between Ethiopian Investment Holdings (EIH), Asset Green, and the Ethiopian Agricultural Business Corporation (EABC). Registered in Ethiopia, the company aims to establish a large-scale, vertically integrated facility for animal feed production, livestock breeding, and milk processing.

Currently, Ethiopia Green is preparing to launch the development phase of this facility. As part of this initiative, the company will soon engage a Developer/Consultant for a 12-month feasibility study to assess the project’s viability and execution strategy.

To support this phase, Ethiopia Green is setting up an office to oversee the Developer/Consultant’s performance and manage stakeholder relationships.

Position Overview

The Acting Chief Financial Officer (CFO) will report directly to the CEO and play a key role in managing the company’s financial operations, compliance, and risk management.

Location: Addis Ababa (with possible travel to regional locations)

Employment Type: Negotiable

Salary: Negotiable

Start Date: April 1, 2025

Key Responsibilities

• Financial Transactions & Budgeting: Execute all incoming and outgoing financial transactions in compliance with company policies. Prepare and manage the company’s budget while ensuring expenditures stay within approved limits.

• Compliance & Reporting: Ensure full compliance with Ethiopian financial laws, tax regulations, and company policies. Generate and submit timely financial reports.

• Banking & Risk Management: Maintain relationships with banks, monitor foreign currency fluctuations, and mitigate financial risks.

• Accounting & Record-Keeping: Keep detailed financial records in line with IFRS standards and manage inventory systems.

• Procurement & Expense Control: Oversee procurement activities to ensure expenses align with budgetary limits.

• Stakeholder Liaison: Work closely with Federal Revenue authorities, insurance providers, and financial advisors to ensure compliance and cost efficiency.

Required Qualifications & Experience

• Education: Minimum of a Bachelor’s degree (preferably a Master’s degree) in Accounting, Finance, or related fields from a recognized institution.

• Experience: At least 5 years of experience in financial management within reputable private or public sector organizations.

• Technical Skills:

• Strong knowledge of Ethiopian financial regulations and tax laws.

• Proficiency in IFRS accounting standards.

• Experience with Peachtree or similar accounting software.

• Professional certifications in finance or accounting (e.g., CPA, ACCA) are an advantage.

• Additional Skill: Business development experience is a plus.
