
About the Job
The driver is responsible for the safe transport of NRC staff, goods, and equipment to approved destinations while ensuring compliance with traffic and organizational regulations.
Key Responsibilities
• Transport staff, visitors, and materials safely.
• Ensure passenger and vehicle safety at all times.
• Maintain vehicle cleanliness, fuel levels, and technical condition.
• Record all trips in the logbook.
• Report accidents, breakdowns, and repairs immediately.
• Follow NRC and local traffic regulations.
• Provide logistical support for trainings and workshops.
Additional Responsibilities
• Conduct daily security checks (fuel, oil, battery, tires, etc.).
• Manage vehicle maintenance and report faults promptly.
• Ensure passengers wear seat belts and avoid phone use while driving.
• Strictly use the vehicle for NRC-approved purposes.
• Navigate challenging environments and support emergency operations.
Qualifications & Skills
• Education: 8th-12th Grade completed.
• License: Minimum Grade Three valid driving license.
• Experience: 4+ years as a driver, preferably in a humanitarian/recovery setting.
• Language: Local language required; basic English is an advantage.
• Skills: Knowledge of driving regulations, basic mechanical skills, and strong communication.
Additional Requirements
• Willingness to travel to remote areas.
• Ability to work flexibly, including weekends.
• Experience working in volatile contexts is a plus.
